Report: Darius Slay may return to Eagles following release
On Monday, the Eagles announced they were cutting ties with Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay, designating him as a June 1 cut, giving the team $4.3M in cap space.
Eagles officially release Darius Slay
While this seems like the end of the line for Slay in Philly, we’ve been down this road before. Leading into 2023, Slay was cut by the Eagles, only to be brought back on a new contract.
This same scenario could play out here. According to Derrick Gunn, he’s hearing that there’s a slid chance Darius Slay ends up back in Philly.

Slay has stated numerous times that he plans to play one more year in the NFL. Obviously, the most ideal scenario would be him finishing his career here in Philadelphia. Even last year when he was 33 years old, Slay was still an impact corner — which is unheard of for a corner that old.
We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out, but my gut feeling is Slay comes back to Philly for his final year.
