Cowboys start free agency with a BANG; re-sign long snapper to multi-year deal

The Dallas Cowboys have truly become a parody of themselves. Their fall from grace will be studied for years to come.

Every offseason, the same story comes out of Dallas — they’re going to be aggressive and pursue high-profile players. And every single time, nothing happens.

This year was no different. Before free agency began, Stephen Jones told reporters the team would be “selectively aggressive.” Meanwhile, just days after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, Dak Prescott assured reporters the Cowboys were close to reaching that level.

Then, when free agency finally arrived, Dallas made their big first move — re-signing their long snapper to a multi-year deal. The moment every Dallas fan had been waiting for. You really can’t make this shit up.

Cowboys starting free agency with a BANG

Part of me does feel bad for Cowboys fans. Every season, they get their hopes up, only to be sucker-punched by their half-dead owner and his clueless son.

Then I remember all the trash they talk, and any sympathy I had goes right out the window.

Eagles fans bring this up every time the Cowboys come into the conversation, but it’s worth repeating: Dallas hasn’t been relevant for 30 years. There’s an entire generation of Cowboys fans who have never seen their team reach an NFC Championship Game.

Since the salary cap was introduced in 1994, Jerry Jones has assembled exactly one Super Bowl-caliber roster — and most of that team consisted of holdovers from the pre-salary cap era.

Dallas is, frankly, irrelevant, and they have no one to blame but themselves.
