Eagles Free Agency: 5 defensive players Howie Roseman could target entering Day Two
The Philadelphia Eagles lost a handful of defensive players during the first day of free agency. Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Isaiah Rodgers, and Darius Slay have all agreed to contracts elsewhere.
Nevertheless, there are still plenty of notable names out there, all of whom may settle for smaller deals after the day one flurry of signings. Here’s five names Eagles fans should keep an eye on entering Day Two.
EDGE Joey Bosa
Recently released by the Los Angeles Chargers in a cap-saving move, Bosa is a five-time Pro Bowler with a career total of 72 sacks.
His elite pass-rushing skills could effectively fill the void left by Josh Sweat, enhancing the Eagles’ defensive front. However, Bosa is reportedly drawing interest from teams like the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers, indicating potential competition for his signature.
I admittedly am not banging the table to bring Bosa to Philly. The video of him arguing with Eagles fans prior to the 2023-’24 NFC title game is burned into my memory. However, I’m sure I could talk myself into the signing if it were to happen.

EDGE Matthew Judon
A Detroit native, Judon has been a consistent performer, known for his ability to pressure quarterbacks. His addition would bolster the Eagles’ pass rush, compensating for the loss of Sweat.
Given his local ties, there might be competition from teams like the Detroit Lions, but his experience and production make him a valuable target.
EDGE Za’Darius Smith
Smith offers veteran experience and has been a steady pass rusher throughout his career.
His presence could provide leadership and depth to the Eagles’ defensive line, addressing the pass-rushing void left by recent departures.

CB Rasul Douglas
Douglas, a former Eagle, has developed into a reliable cornerback, known for his ball-hawking abilities.
Reacquiring him could help mitigate the losses of Rodgers and Slay, bringing familiarity with the Eagles’ system and providing stability to the secondary. I would be down for a Philly reunion here. He’ll be 30 entering next season, but he could at leats provide a veteran presence in the Eagles’ very young cornerback room.
CB Kendall Fuller
Fuller is a seasoned cornerback with a solid track record in pass coverage. His experience and versatility would be valuable assets to the Eagles’ secondary, helping to fill the void left by recent departures.
