Nothing screams ‘Beer League’ more than two hockey teammates beating the hell out of each other on the bench in the first period

There are certain things you expect in beer league hockey. You expect the goalie to show up 10 minutes late. You expect half the team to be gassed before warmups even end. You expect some overweight dude rocking a tinted visor and full Bauer gear like he’s playing in Game 7 to throw a cheap shot and start a scuffle.

What you don’t expect is two beer league hockey teammates to start throwing haymakers on the bench in the first period but that’s exactly what went down in this clip making the rounds on the internet.

Hard to believe these two dudes were fighting because of something that happened during the game, right? Check the scoreboard. It’s literally the first period in a 2-1 game. I don’t think anything crazy could have even happened yet?

There’s no reason why two guys on the same team should be trying to kill each other while their goalie is still stretching. If you listen close enough to the low-quality, empty-rink audio, you can hear one of them say “Monday” and “I’ll fucking kill you.”

Christ almighty…Monday? What happened Monday?

Look I get it, Monday’s are the absolute worst. Everything that could go wrong will in fact, go wrong on a Monday and I typically spent those mornings debating on whether I would be better off just driving my car into the Delaware River than going to work. Monday’s are a cold, dark place in my brain but I manage to battle through it.

Maybe these guys just needed to drop the gloves and punch each other’s faces in so let out pent up aggression from a bad weekend with their wives doing shit that they had zero interest in doing on their very small, timeframe that they have to rest?

Who the hell knows. Maybe someone forgot to bring beer. Maybe the team’s group text was too much for one of these guys to handle. Or maybe it actually had something to do with a wife and/or girlfriend screwing with the boys’ heads.

All are valid reasons to just start beating the ever-living shit out of each other, right?

Beer league fights are one thing. We’ve all seen the occasional stick-swinging goon lose his mind over a missed call. Two beer league hockey teammates start beating the hell out of each other on the bench in the first period? That’s next-level insanity.

Somebody from the Wingmen needs to give us an update. Who got booted? Did they actually finish the game? What happened on Monday?

Too many questions with little-to-no answers to continue this post about some random beer league hockey fight. I’m sorry but I think we have to officially pull the plug on this and instead shift focus over to R Kelly’s alleged 25 prison albums.
