Report: Eagles on the brink of losing starting guard in free agency
The Philadelphia Eagles have already lost several players during free agency, and it appears they may lose another sooner rather than later.
During the latest episode of Adam Schefter’s podcast, he may have unintentionally revealed Philadelphia’s next free agent departure — Mekhi Becton.
While discussing the compensatory draft picks the team has received so far, Schefter noted that the Eagles would gain another once Becton signs elsewhere.

Based on OverTheCap’s compensatory draft pick formula, Becton would fetch the Birds a seventh-round comp pick in 2026. It’s not much, but it’s something. And as Schefter points out, Philly has hit on nearly all of their picks over the past few years.
With Kenyon Green now in the building, keeping Becton seems even more far fetched than it did previously. Unless Howie Roseman can retain him on a team-friendly deal, don’t be surprised if Becton is the next Eagle to walk.
