This video of Juan Soto casually obliterating a baseball directly at a guy heckling him is making the rounds, and honestly, even with it being Soto and the New York Mets, the way everything unfolded was kind of beautiful.

Few things in sports are as satisfying as an athlete letting their game do the talking. This guy was all over Juan Soto earlier in the game, hauling insult after insult at him before revenge was served.

Humans never cease to amaze me. With a decent crowd of fans down in Port St. Lucie to watch some Spring Training baseball, this dude shows up, seemingly alone, rocking a ridiculous ponytail and goatee to go along with what appears to be a green smock just to tell at 25-year old Juan Soto for allegedly being “overpaid” and “overrated.”

Incredible, really.

Juan Soto heard the noise, stared him down, and crushed a HR straight at the heckler’s face.

Oof. Unfortunately, there’s no coming back from that. This guy’s last hope was catching that baseball and launching it back onto the field and then flipping off Juan Soto while he was rounding the bases.

That obviously did not happen. If you really think about it, one look at that guy and you just knew wasn’t “the one” to pull off any type of athletic move, right? This was still devastatingly embarrasing though…lol

Soto won this battle before the ball even left his bat. This dude thought he was in control, then suddenly he was out there trying to Moss a home run ball in a clearance-rack windbreaker.

If you’re gonna talk shit to a player like Soto maybe don’t do it from prime home run territory. You’re just begging to get shut up in the most embarrassing way imaginable.
