Saquon Barkley is Trademarking Everything—The latest being a silhouette of the Backwards Hurdle
Saquon Barkley isn’t just out here breaking ankles—he’s breaking into the business world with trademark filings left and right. The latest? A silhouette of his now-iconic reverse hurdle from the Eagles’ Week 9 game against Jacksonville.
This is just another move in what’s becoming an all-out brand-building takeover.
Earlier this year, Saquon Barkley filed for “2KSA” (a nod to his 2,000-yard season) and “Shayshawn Barkley” (inspired by that one viral street interview where a fan butchered his name). Now, he’s locking down his signature move.
Shayshawn Barkley: From Viral Slip-Up to an Official Trademark
Honestly, I would have loved to guide Saquon Barkley through this process because what he’s trademarking…there are better options out there. Am I going to say what those options are in this article?
Absolutely not.
Next thing you know we’ll get crushed with C&D’s and our small little merch business would be cooked. Just know, as a master of the t-shirt game, there are a million better things than “2KSA” and “Shayshawn Barkley.”

It’s actually kind of wild how aggressive athletes are getting with trademarking their names, phrases, and even in-game highlights.
Jalen Hurts, Howie Roseman, and half the Eagles’ roster have all jumped into the trademark game. Don’t get me wrong, it makes perfect sense. If people are going to make money off your image, you might as well get paid first.
The only pushback there is the fact that these super star athletics and general managers are already paid and killing the young guns trying to make a quick buck, but I digress.

Here’s the logo that was on the trademark filing…lol

Not to brag, but our designs are significantly better than that but if you were hoping to slap that hurdle silhouette on a fresh t-shirt or hoodie for your own merch store? Forget it. The trademark specifically lists:
👕 T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts
👖 Sweatpants and joggers
🧢 Caps, beanies, and bucket hats
Brutal. At the risk of getting sued into oblivion, here’s one that I made myself…

I might not be a Super Bowl winning running back that just had one of the greatest seasons in the history of the National Football League, but I can design a t-shirt with the best of them.
So basically, Saquon’s about to drop some apparel that will either be awesome or end up as a $75 hoodie with a tiny logo buried somewhere near the sleeve but luckily, this was the image submitted for copyright. So anyone who wanted to rat us out on the images above can take a hike…or buy a t-shirt from us.

Again, I respect the hustle. You can’t let random Etsy sellers or knockoff street vendors make a bag off your highlights.
If nothing else, at least Barkley is giving us one of the funniest NFL trademarks ever with “Shayshawn Barkley.” but whoever that random dude from the street interview was, he deserves a cut of the royalties.
