Lane Johnson addresses whether or not he will play for the Eagles through 2027
The Philadelphia Eagles made sure they kept a pillar of their offensive line around for a few more seasons. On Monday, Lane Johnson and the team agreed to a one-year contract extension that will keep the veteran right tackle in Philly through the 2027 season. It’s official—Lane’s sticking around longer, and you can bet he’s going to keep wrecking defenders at the usual All-Pro level.
Let’s not sugarcoat this: Lane Johnson just got paid, and rightfully so. The reworked deal adds $8 million over the next two years, plus an additional $30 million in guarantees, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. That’s a major bump for the 34-year-old, who’s earned every penny. Even though Lane’s pushing 35 (in May), his performance on the field hasn’t dipped a bit. In fact, he was a lock for his sixth Pro Bowl in 2024 and probably should’ve gotten the first-team All-Pro nod as well. The dude is playing at an elite level.
The mindset of Lane Johnson
When asked about his future in the NFL, Lane was as cool and composed as always.

After BG’s retirement, it’s wild to think that the Eagles only have four players over the age of 30. But outside of the long snapper and kicker, only two players are in their 30s and still holding it down: Lane Johnson and Dallas Goedert.

And let’s not forget, Lane’s sidekick in the Super Bowl ring department is none other than kicker Jake Elliott. Those two could become the only two Eagles in franchise history with 3 Super Bowl rings. If that doesn’t scream “legacy,” I don’t know what does.
At the end of the day
Eagles fans, we’ll always have Lane’s back. From his dominant play on the field to his unwavering leadership in the locker room, Lane Johnson has been a cornerstone of this franchise for years. The guy is a true pro, both on and off the field, and we’re incredibly thankful for everything he’s done for the Eagles. Now, let’s go get that third ring.
