Packers officially propose a ban on Eagles’ Tush Push
It actually happened — the Green Bay Packers have officially proposed a rule change that would see the Tush Push banned from the NFL.
Packers official statement on banning the Tush Push
We’ve covered this topic a ton since the season has ended, so I won’t go over every little detail. In short, this is softer than baby shit.
It really comes down to the simply fact that the only team in the NFL that’s good at it is the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s not because the play is dangerous — the NFL literally conducted a study on if the play caused any injuries, they came back with a whopping zero.

Some argue it’s ‘not a football play,’ which is just an unfalsifiable claim. There’s no true definition for what is or is not a ‘football play.’ Should the QB sneak in general fall into this category too? What about a QB kneel? That doesn’t really feel like a ‘football play’ to me either, but we all allow it.
Tha Packers themselves have tried to run the Tush Push over the years, but as expected, they’ve failed miserably every time. Except for that one time… You know, the time they literally ran it in Philadelphia during the postseason.

If you’re not going to have the integrity to follow your own rule proposal, it should probably just be tossed aside and forgotten about. It just comes off as pathetic.
If the Packers succeed here and manage to get the play banned, shame on the NFL. Just because one team is very good at it doesn’t mean it should be banned. It would leave a blemish on the integrity of not only the Packers, but the league as a whole.
