The Lebron James vs. Stephen A. Smith beef took a wild turn today as this might be a war the “king” wants no part of
So, let me just make something clear. In no way was Stephen A. Smith ever going to just let Lebron James comments slide. No shot he wasn’t going to take this to absolute max. This is what Stephen A. does. And, honestly, I think Lebron might’ve walked himself into a fight he doesn’t actually want.
LeBron James vs Stephen A. Smith’s ‘Taylor Swift Media Tour’ has reached a whole new level >>
And no, I don’t mean a fist-fight. Even though Stephen A. Smith claims he’d swing back at Lebron. Look, I know social media is always quick to clown Stephen A. whenever he gets dramatic (which is basically his brand), but let’s actually step back and look at what’s happening here.
Lebron went on The Pat McAfee show and tried to sun Stephen A., calling him out for taking their little courtside exchange and turning it into a media tour. And, yeah Lebron wasn’t lying, Stephen A. hit every platform possible like he was dropping a new album. But here’s where it gets interesting; Stephen A. clearly has something in the vault.
Stephen A. Smith has receipts on Lebron James and he’s not afraid to use them

The moment this turned into a legit war, he started throwing out some wild claims, including the one about Lebron skipping Kobe Bryant’s memorial. And let’s be honest, that’s not some random talking point you pull out of thin air. That’s the type of thing you keep in your back pocket until you really want to go nuclear.
Oh, and the way Stephen A. delivered it? Like he was just casually mentioning something the world should already know? That tells me he’s sitting on even more ammo. This isn’t just about a courtside staredown or a couple of soundbites on McAfee’s show. Stephen A. seems to believe he has dirt that could really put Lebron on the defensive here.
Now, whether or not all of it is true? That’s another story. But if I’m LeBron, I don’t love where this is headed. The more he engages, the more it feels like Stephen A. is willing to pull out receipts that LeBron would probably rather keep buried.
Stephen A. Runs the NBA Media Game
Let’s be honest—LeBron can say whatever he wants about how the NBA media operates, but Stephen A. IS the NBA media. He’s been around forever, he knows everybody, and if there’s something out there that makes LeBron look bad, you better believe he’s got access to it.
Say whatever you want, this is now a personal beef between the two and I felt so passionately about this I booted up the old camera and mic setup.

LeBron might be the second-best basketball player of all time, but in a media war with Stephen A.? That’s a different beast. Stephen A. plays the long game. He controls the narratives. He knows how to take one comment and turn it into a two-week content cycle.
LeBron Should Tread Lightly
So while people are laughing about Stephen A. saying he’d swing on LeBron (which, let’s be real, is hilarious), they might be missing the bigger picture: this could get a lot messier if LeBron keeps poking the bear. Stephen A. is hinting that there’s way more to this story than just some sideline argument.
And honestly? If I were LeBron, I’d stop before this gets really ugly. But, I’m not Lebron, and I love sports media headlines like this, so, I hope for our sake, this is only the beginning of a heavy-weight clash between Lebron James and Stephen A. Smith.
