The Sixers finally give a half-assed update on Joel Embiid, per Nick Nurse
The Sixers championship hopes have lived and died with Joel Embiid for nearly a decade, and this season? Yeah, it was DOA before it even started. Unfortunately, Embiid’s knee has been a ticking time bomb, and after limping through just 19 games, the Sixers finally pulled the plug on his season.
That was a month ago, and guess what? we’ve heard absolutely nothing since. So, what the hell is going on?
The Sixers still can’t figure out how to manage Embiid properly
Let’s call it for what it is, this Organization has had one job for years now: manage Joel Embiid properly. And yet, time and time again, they’ve failed him and us for that matter. Without going into it much more for the sake of all our well beings, we did get some clarity on the situation; for what it’s worth.
Nick Nurse provides an update
Nick Nurse confirms Tyrese Maxey will be OUT for this weekend’s games against Miami and Toronto. There’s hope he returns next week. They’ll play the Knicks on Tuesday. #Sixers

Aside from the updates we truly don’t care about, here’s some “transparency” on Joel Embiid.
“There’s still discussions, but again, I think it’s probably not that far away. I don’t know what the timeline is to get a decision made. I think, again, there’s lots of people he’s seeing and talking to, lots of information that they’re gathering, and just want to absolutely be as thorough as possible, and get every option on the table and then figure out where they go from there.”
Oh, cool. So… absolutely nothing. Fantastic.
What the Hell is Taking So Long?
How is it even possible that the Sixers don’t have a plan in place yet? Embiid has access to the best specialists in the world, and yet, a full month later, we’re still waiting on a treatment plan? Either they’re stalling because there’s some truly bad news coming, or they’re just as incompetent as they’ve always been when it comes to managing their franchise player. Neither option is comforting.
On the brightside: Nobody can Tank quite like the Philadelphia 76ers and thankfully, Will Smith was in the building Wednesday night to witness it >>
Enough is Enough
At some point, the Sixers need to stop acting like a clueless organization and actually take accountability. The fans deserve some honesty. Embiid deserves an actual plan. Until then, it’s just another chapter in the never-ending saga of “How Will The Sixers Screw This Up Next?” Unreal.
