Sean McDermott says player safety is No. 1 reason to ban Tush Push; can’t cite a single statistic to back it up
The Tush Push debate will come to a head this week at the annual NFL owners meeting, and it looks like Sean McDermott will be the one leading the charge.
The Buffalo Bills head coach was vocal about his disapproval of the play at the scouting combine — despite his team running it the second-most times over the past two seasons. His main gripe, player safety.
When asked about his stance, Sean McDermott didn’t budge. He’s still very much against the play and will almost 100% vote for it to be banned. Through his explanation, he points out player safety, even though there is no data to back up his thesis.
Sean McDermott is jealous of the Eagles’ success, there’s really no other explanation for this
Why can’t any of these dorks just be honest about why they want the Tush Push banned?
Just tell us you hate that the Eagles perfected a play and that you think that’s unfair. At least telling the truth inherently gets you some of my respect.
The whole argument in favor of banning the Tush Push is based on jealousy and banning a play simply because one team is great at it sets a dangerous precedent for the NFL. There are reportedly some team executives that see right through this bullshit. One executive told ESPN that this proposal is ‘weak’ and ‘reeks of jealousy.’

For the sake of football, I really hope the Tush Push does not get banned. I know it’s easy for me to say that as an Eagles fan, but in my heart of hearts, I think I’d still see it this way if I wasn’t.
Sean McDermott, and every other coach/owner who wants this play banned, should kick rocks. You’d think a defensive coach like McDermott would revel in the opportunity to try and scheme up something that can stop this supposed unstoppable play. But no, he’s more interested in playing politics. Get a grip.
