Sad: Giants fans are ready to run through a brick wall after backup quarterback Jameis Winston promises more ‘giggles’ next year

Look, I love Jameis Winston as much as the next guy. He’s electric with a microphone, a walking soundbite, and somehow manages to blend wisdom, chaos, and charisma into a QB1-shaped package. But let’s slow down for a second.

Giants fans — are you actually excited about Jameis Winston?

Like, this is what gets the blood pumping in the offseason? A backup quarterback who threw more picks than touchdowns the last time he started a full season?

Don’t get me wrong, Jameis is the man. He delivers quotes like he’s running for president and eats Ws like they’re on the cafeteria menu.

But here’s the thing: he’s still QB2. Behind Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson, who got run out of Denver and Pittsburgh with the same energy you use to shoo a raccoon off your porch.

If Jameis is your backup, you’re probably in a decent spot. If Giants fans are clinging to his motivational speeches like they’re gospel, that says more about the current state of your franchise than anything else.

Let’s not forget — the New York Giants are still a dumpster fire. A flaming trash pile parked right next to Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys in the bottom corner of the NFC East.

Washington might be figuring it out, Philly’s still in championship-mode, and the Giants are out here parading two quarterbacks whose best days might be behind them. This isn’t a recipe for success, it’s the NFL’s version of nostalgia cosplay.

And yet, the fans are hyped. Because Jameis said some cool stuff. That’s where we are.

Maybe this turns into a redemption arc.

Maybe Jameis Winston gets his shot and steals the job. Or maybe Russell Wilson flames out again, and Giants fans find themselves screaming for Jameis by Week 4 while Brian Daboll silently wonders if coaching a JUCO team might be more stable.

Either way, the Giants being excited about anything at quarterback is just funny at this point. It’s like putting a spoiler on a busted Honda Civic and pretending it’s a race car.

But hey — at least they’ve got giggles and paradigm shifts now. That’s progress, right?
