Stolen Valor: Dak Prescott’s new nickname makes me want to go to war

Maybe I’m just in an antsy mood, but this new Dak Prescott nickname that’s floating around is really getting to me.

Apparently, Dak has lost a few pounds this offseason. He purportedly has lost upwards of 20 pounds. So he’s no longer Fat Dak, according to Twitter, they’re now calling him Slim Reaper Dak.

What the hell is that bullshit?

Everyone, not just Eagles fans, knows Slim Reaper is already taken by DeVonta Smith. It’s been his nickname since college and I don’t care how much weight Dak may or may not have lost, he can’t have DeVonta Smith’s nickname.

Dak Prescott does not deserve a nickname — he hasn’t done enough

It doesn’t even sound good.

“SliM ReApEr DaK.”

The thought of even saying it out loud angers me. Usually you have to accomplish impressive feats before getting a nickname. Dak has two playoff wins at 31 years old. You could write the entire history of the NFL without giving more than a sentence to Dak Prescott. By no means is he qualified to steal a Heisman Trophy winner, BCS National Champion, and Super Bowl Champion’s nickname.

And for the record, nobody actually calls him this outside of Dallas. Stealing another man’s nickname just so your fans can use it is nasty work. Dak and the rest of Cowboys nation should be embarrassed.
