Bryce Harper fired up

WATCH: Bryce Harper was fired up after hitting two-run homer to retake lead in win over the Braves

The Phillies gutted out a tight win on the road against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night, featuring two clutch home runs from Bryce Harper and Trea Turner. Both stars retook the lead for the Fightins in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively, but Harper was especially fired up after his two-run shot.

Bryce Harper let out an audible “fuck yeah” as he crossed home plate after retaking the lead:

It’s funny because I did the exact same thing from my couch. And why wouldn’t I? I despise the Braves, and this nuke job was the spark the Phillies needed to keep pushing for the win.

This home run marks Bryce Harper’s 16th home run at Truist Park, the most ever by a player to have never suited up for the Braves. The next closest? Mets slugger Juan Soto, clocking in at 12.

Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the total lack of enthusiasm from the MLB social account on this clip.

Shohei Ohtani gets an all-caps tweet for a game-tying home run in the third inning, but they barely give Bryce Harper the time of day? For a clutch homer in the seventh inning against a division rival? Give me a break.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
