AJ Brown Local Fair Rant

Carny Accountability: AJ Brown put the entire Church Fair Industry on notice and honestly, it’s about time

AJ Brown on Church Fairs – I’ve only been to one elite church fair in my life. One. St. Thomas in Glen Mills, PA. That’s it. That’s the gold standard and the Cardinal O’Hara Fair was no where close so please don’t even mention it.

Even still, any church fair feels like the rides were reassembled lawn furniture with a motor bolted on, turning innocent church fairs into death traps with a paint job.

So when AJ Brown took to Instagram to air out his suspicions about the safety of church fair rides, I nodded in agreement like a man who’s seen too much because again, we’ve all been there—staring at a rickety Gravitron held together by gum and prayers, asking ourselves if this is the last time we’ll see daylight.

The Church Fair Industrial Complex has a new problem: AJ Brown

This is the same guy who accidentally made “Inner Excellence” the number one book on Amazon just by getting caught reading it on the Eagles’ sideline.

You know how influential you have to be for that to happen?

People didn’t even know if he liked it or not—he was just holding it and it sold out. AJ could start a firewood company tomorrow and bankrupt Duraflame by next Tuesday.

So when he starts questioning the Tilt-A-Whirl’s torque specs and asking why we’re letting dudes named Bubba with neck tattoos build roller coasters in a church parking lot… I’m listening.

Side Note: Is Cam Ward a Carny? Check out what he said earlier this week.

I know people will try to say “Oh come on, it’s just a little fun.” Fun? FUN?

You think it’s fun when your foot gets stuck in the Sizzler because the floor panel wasn’t screwed in properly? You think it’s fun when the Ferris wheel operator also sells elephant ears and doubles as security? Not on AJ Brown’s watch.

And the fallout is going to be real. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s summer fair budget likely just took a nosedive. Somewhere, a priest is explaining to the Bishop why the parish can’t afford a dunk tank this year.

You guessed it: AJ Brown went viral again.

These church fairs aren’t gonna survive another sermon like this. People don’t trust the rides anymore. AJ turned “trust issues” into a citywide movement.

But hey, maybe that’s what we needed. Someone to speak the truth. And who better than A.J.? He’s not just WR1—he’s Philly’s unofficial safety inspector now. If your church fair can’t pass the AJ Brown eye test, maybe it’s time to pack up your rig and hit the road.
