Deion Sanders gets absolutely cooked with a Community Note after Shedeur goes undrafted in first round

Man, life comes at you fast. Just ask Deion Sanders. One minute you’re proclaiming your son a “top 5 lock” in the NFL Draft, and the next minute you’re getting Community Noted into oblivion.

That’s exactly what happened to Deion Sanders Thursday night after Shedeur Sanders — his son and quarterback that he’s been hyping up for over a year — wasn’t just not picked in the top five… he wasn’t picked at all in the first round.

Deion Sanders’ old post from last May where he flexed on a troll and guaranteed Shedeur would be a top-5 pick got hit with a cold, ruthless Community Note. X hit Coach Prime with a “Shedeur Sanders was not a top 5 draft pick” disclaimer right under his chest-puffing quote. Brutal. No spin zone. No saving it. Just facts dropped right on his head.

Now listen, if you’ve paid any attention to Deion over the past year, none of this should be surprising. He’s been running a hype train for his son that could rival the Shinkansen in Japan. Interviews, podcasts, social media posts, the works — all building toward the idea that Shedeur was a generational quarterback prospect.

Reality check? Two quarterbacks went in the first round: Cam Ward went first overall to Tennessee (no surprise there) and Jaxson Dart sneaked in late at No. 25 to the Giants.

Meanwhile, Shedeur sat and watched the whole thing unfold like he was stuck in NFL Draft purgatory. The day and night brought him nothing. Unfortunately.

Remember when Deion was hinting last year that Shedeur might “pull an Eli Manning” and refuse to play for certain teams? Yeah, buddy, you gotta actually get picked first to start flexing that kind of energy. As of now, the Sanders family is just hoping someone calls his name on Day 2.

There’s still a good shot Shedeur lands somewhere solid Friday night in the second or third round — but let’s not act like this wasn’t a major slice of humble pie. It’s one thing to talk your kid up. It’s another thing to have the entire internet dunk on you while you’re trying to manifest a top-5 selection that never even sniffed reality.

Gotta say though — getting Community Noted about your own son’s draft position might be an all-time dad L.
