Cowboys Rookie Tyler Booker already asking for trouble, wants a piece of Jalen Carter

You want to lineup against Jalen Carter? Good luck. Welcome to the NFL — where you always get what you ask for. Tyler Booker, the Cowboys’ brand-new first-round pick, decided that his first official act in the NFC East would be throwing down the gauntlet at Jalen Carter, the Eagles’ All-Pro defensive wrecking ball.

Not Smart: Tyler Booker wants a piece of Jalen Carter

You can’t make this up. For a second I was convinced that the Dallas Cowboys drafted a comedian instead of a competent offensive lineman worthy of a first round pick.

During draft night, Booker was already talking a little spicy about “watching the love for the game leave his opponent.” On Friday, standing there in his Cowboys gear at The Star in Frisco, Texas, he made it personal — saying he’s most excited to match up with Carter.

Jalen Carter Reading That Quote (Probably)

Bold strategy, Cotton.

Booker has never even faced Jalen Carter. Not once. When Alabama and Georgia squared off during Booker’s freshman year, Carter was out there terrorizing quarterbacks while Booker was playing part-time snaps on the Tide’s O-line.

To Tyler Booker’s credit, he’s built up a nice college résumé:

  • Freshman All-American ✅
  • Second-Team All-SEC ✅
  • First-Team All-American in 2024 ✅
  • Captain at Alabama ✅

Good player, no doubt. Big body too — 6-foot-5, 321 pounds — and he helped Bama rack up 31 red zone rushing touchdowns last year, tied for fourth-most in the country.

That’s so lovely for Tyler Booker, but I promise you, the World Champion Philadelphia Eagles, owners of the NFC East, literally do not care about anything this rookie has to say. Jalen Carter is probably foaming at the mouth to get his hands on him already.

Tyler Booker Just Signed Himself Up For The Jalen Carter Experience Twice A Year

Jalen Carter is the Breadman. He’s the guy who eats quarterbacks and offensive lineman alive. Just ask Patrick Mahomes or Matthew Stafford or really, anyone who dares to line up against him. Carter almost singlehandedly buried offenses en route to a Super Bowl ring last season.

Jalen Carter is HIM. Tyler Booker can run his mouth all he wants but now, he has to back it up. The Eagles will have no problem letting Carter introduce himself to the rook in the most violent way possible two times next season.

Some advice for Booker: Maybe next time, shake a few hands first before you start calling out the apex predators. You’re not at Bama anymore, buddy.

Go Birds.
