Shedeur Sanders nfl draft

At this point, the Eagles should actually consider drafting Shedeur Sanders

At this point, why the hell not? It’s Day 3 of the NFL Draft, and somehow, Shedeur Sanders is still hanging out on the board. Six quarterbacks have already been picked, and yet the kid who threw for over 4,100 yards and 37 touchdowns at Colorado is still waiting for his phone to ring.

Why is that happening? I honestly have no idea and personally, I think Shedeur Sanders just might not be that good of a quarterback but either way, someone is dropping the ball. There’s an opportunity to be on the right or wrong side of history and as a defending World Champion that has been incredibly bored during the NFL Draft this year, I’m ready for answers.

That being said, I don’t see why the Philadelphia Eagles wouldn’t at least think about picking him in the fourth round. Here’s what Howie Roseman is working with today.

  • 4th Round: 111 and 130
  • 5th Round: 161, 165, 168
  • 6th Round: 191

Howie Roseman Cookin’ Again: Eagles trade down twice, stack draft picks for 2025 and 2026

Look, the Birds always do their due diligence when it comes to quarterbacks. It’s not even about needing one — it’s about stockpiling talent and creating future trade assets. QB development is a business around here.

Shedeur Sanders is obviously not a Jalen Hurts’ replacement

Not that this even needs to be said but Jalen Hurts is the franchise quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles and should be the face of the NFL. Tanner McKee, also known as the Mormon Missile, is a solid project piece behind him.

Adding Sanders to the QB room could be a classic long-game move — polish him up, let him marinate in a real NFL system under a professional like Jalen Hurts, and two years from now? Maybe you’re flipping him for draft picks. Maybe you’re cashing in for a second or third-rounder when some desperate team needs a starter.

10 Minutes of Shedeur Sanders Highlights

Quick Notes: Shedeur Sanders Strengths

  • Great arm
  • NFL bloodlines
  • Played under pressure with that dysfunctional Colorado program

Quick Notes: Shedeur Sanders Flaws

  • Takes too many sacks
  • Holds the ball too long
  • NIL Diva
  • Played some hero ball that won’t fly in the NFL

But that’s fine. He doesn’t have to start here. He’d be learning behind a guy who literally went from “backup maybe someday starter” to “MVP runner-up” in the span of two years. The Eagles could mold him into a “professional” without the pressure to carry a franchise on Day 1.

The Eagles love quarterbacks. They love value. And they love loading the factory with lottery tickets at premium positions. If Shedeur Sanders keeps sliding into the 4th or 5th round, and you’ve already hit on your depth needs elsewhere?

Screw it. Take the shot. At the very least, it would be funny.

You know Howie’s probably thinking about it anyway.
