Young Phillies fan appears to possess Jose Alvarado before third-straight K to end 8th inning
The Phillies fended off the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night. In typical fashion, Jose Alvarado found himself in a bases-loaded jam with no outs, but, also in typical fashion, he then proceeded to mow down three-straight batters to get out of the inning.
This is just the Alvarado experience, right? Sure, that may be true, but the broadcast cameras picked up a young fan locked in on Alvarado in such a way that leads me to believe there’s more at play than just good pitching. That’s right, folks, voodoo is officially on the menu.
This Phillies fan clearly possessed Jose Alvarado and compelled him to throw some of the nastiest cutters humanity has ever seen:

You might be sitting there thinking, “This guy is insane, there’s no way this kid possessed an MLB pitcher using voodoo powers.” And, you know what? You may be right about that.
I have no way of confirming it’s voodoo, and my industry expert in New Orleans was unceremoniously shot by a disgraced detective bearing an uncanny resemblance to Matthew McConaughey. I’m open to other options and could easily be convinced it’s also some sort of space-age technology like in the hit movie Avatar.
Show me the data and I’ll listen. That’s just the kind of guy I am.
And here’s the thing. This isn’t to take anything away from Jose Alvarado’s performance. The laws of possession clearly dictate that a host cannot be compelled to do anything they aren’t already capable of doing from a physical standpoint.
Of course, demons are the exception, but I think we can rule that possibility out. The fan seems like a good kid. He may not have even known what he was doing in real time. If a possession did take place, it came from a place of love and good intentions, which is all we can really ask for.
Either way, this was an incredible win for the Phillies. Not only did they defeat a division rival in dramatic fashion, but they also may have discovered the most powerful sorcerer in Philadelphia.
