WATCH: Phillies walk off the Nationals, Bryson Stott scores on wild pitch in crazy 9th inning
The Phillies played a wild game against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, eventually winning via a walkoff wild pitch that saw Bryson Stott cross the plate in dramatic fashion. The Phils had their backs against the wall down one after the Nats hung four runs in the top of the 9th, but tied it back up after a Johan Rojas sac fly.
Then, Bryson Stott took a chance, and it paid off for the Phillies in a big way:

God, I love beating the Nationals. It’s not exactly as sweet as beating the Mets or the Braves because they’re actually competent franchises, but beating up on little brother never gets old.
This was a classic instance of letting them believe they could win, and then snatching their joy at the last possible moment. Does the amount of happiness this brings me make me a little bit sick? Maybe, but I don’t really care.
The Fightins are now 10-4 at home this season. The CBP Effect continues to be extremely real despite the rocky start to the season. There’s a ton of baseball left, but moments like this always help solidify the clubhouse.
