Anthony Edwards sends a message to Shannon Sharpe after ending the Lakers’ season in 5

Anthony Edwards may have gone 5-for-19 from the field and clanked every single one of his 11 three-point attempts in Game 5 but none of that mattered when the final buzzer sounded and the Timberwolves were moving on while the Lakers were sent packing to Cancun.

The Lakers traded for Luka Doncic just to have Rudy Gobert send them home in five

Edwards did not miss however, when he was given the opportunity to call out Shannon Sharpe and the Lakers in 5 movement postgame.

Anthony Edwards: “They said Lakers in 5, and the Wolves won in 5. So, I think that makes it feel 10x better”

“You know what makes it feel even better is that they said Lakers in 5, and the Wolves won in 5. I think that makes it feel 10 times better.”

That was a direct shot at Shannon Sharpe, who had confidently predicted the Lakers would take care of business in five. Shannon was so loud with it, he basically became the face of the Lakers bandwagon. And now, he gets to be the face of a first-round bounce.

Shannon Sharpe predicts Lakers in 5…

Shannon Sharpe caught in another freaky saga — this time with a 21-year-old OnlyFans model

Sharpe wasn’t alone, of course. Nearly every “analyst” at ESPN rode with the higher-seeded Lakers, as if Anthony Edwards and the league’s best defense were just props in a LeBron & Luka legacy parade.

All ten ESPN analysts picked the Lakers to beat the Timberwolves in Round 1

This series wasn’t close. The Timberwolves were bigger, tougher, deeper, and smarter. The Wolves defense smothered everything. The Lakers’ fourth quarter in Game 5 was a 16-point mess. LeBron ran out of gas. Luka Doncic looked like a traffic cone on defense.

Meanwhile, even with a rough shooting night, Anthony Edwards kept attacking. He played 40 minutes, made all his free throws, grabbed six boards, dished five assists, and held his own defensively.

Game 5 wasn’t his best performance, but it’s not like Anthony Edwards wasn’t a killer throughout the first round series against the Lakers. He averaged 26.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists over the five games and wrapped it all up with a mic-drop message for Shannon and the rest of the doubters.

The Lakers said Lakers in 5. The Wolves replied Wolves in 5.

ESPN should personally apologize to Anthony Edwards. They predicted a gentleman’s sweep — unfortunately, they just picked the wrong team.
