Eagles sign wideout with 4.3 speed following rookie minicamp tryout
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wideout Giles Jackson following his tryout during rookie minicamp this weekend.
Eagles Add Speed and Versatility with Giles Jackson
Jackson, who will wear No. 42, brings speed to a wide receiver room that continues to evolve under the new-look offense. He led the Washington Huskies in receptions, hauling in 85 passes for 893 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024 during the school’s first Big Ten season. But he’s no stranger to the conference — Jackson began his college career at Michigan, where he earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors as a return specialist in 2019.

The Eagles value flexibility, and Jackson fits that mold. At just 5-9, 187 pounds, he’s a smaller receiver with quick-twitch athleticism and special teams upside, giving him a potential path to carve out a role on the roster this summer.
Tyrion Davis-Price Waived to Make Room
To make space for Jackson, the Eagles waived former third-round running back Tyrion Davis-Price. Drafted by the 49ers in 2022 out of LSU, Davis-Price never found his footing in the NFL. He spent last season on the Chiefs’ practice squad and appeared in just one game during their Super Bowl run.
His exit suggests the Eagles are leaning into their current depth at running back and focusing on adding playmakers at wide receiver and special teams.
Jackson will now get an extended look as the team heads into OTAs and training camp. With returner jobs and depth receiver spots up for grabs, he’ll have every chance to prove he belongs in midnight green.
This move is a reminder that the Eagles leave no stone unturned when it comes to adding potential contributors — especially ones who can impact both offense and special teams.
