Jason Richardson’s son might be a better dunker than him; as Jaxon’s highlights go viral

Jason Richardson was a certified menace when it came to dunking. We’re talking back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk Champion status — a dude who would cock that thing back like he was trying to punch a hole in the rim. But now, his son Jaxon? Yeah… he might be different in a way that even his dad wasn’t.

Jaxon Richardson, a 6’6” five-star prospect in the class of 2026, is already making waves with Christopher Columbus High School down in Florida. He just put up 11.6 points, 4.3 boards, and an assist per game during the Jordan Holiday Classic in New York, and let’s just say the kid’s not just here to play basketball — he’s here to levitate.

Seriously, I don’t know what gravitational laws this kid is operating under, but when he takes off, it’s like watching someone who doesn’t even try to jump. He just floats. Effortlessly.

And listen, I’m not saying he’s better than his pops yet, but man, it’s getting scary. Jason was 6-foot-6 with a 46.5-inch vertical and dunked like he had a vendetta against the rim. Pure violence. Jaxon? He jumps so high it almost feels like a crime how easy it looks.

You throw on the tape and it’s hard to ignore — this kid might already have the vertical advantage. It’s not just that he’s getting up, it’s how he gets up. It’s so smooth it doesn’t even look real. If you told me he had rockets in his sneakers, I wouldn’t argue.

Jaxon’s just getting started

Jaxon’s still got a long way to go. He hasn’t dunked on NBA competition, hasn’t had a 14-year pro career, hasn’t caught bodies in traffic under the bright lights. But if you lined him and his dad up in a dunk contest right now? I’m taking Jason by a hair — for now.

But now that the world knows Jason Richardson’s son is a legit basketball talent, all eyes are gonna be on him. As he heads to college and hopefully punches his ticket to the NBA, you better believe we’ll be locked in every step of the way. The highlight reels are only just beginning — and we’ll have it all covered right here at The Liberty Line.
