ESPN releases embarrassing teaser for Chiefs documentary “The Kingdom” showcasing Super Bowl loss to the Eagles

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting a docuseries, but it is coming under the funniest possible circumstances. ESPN followed the team during the 2024-2025 season to document their historic run. However, we all know that run ended after running into the brick wall that was the eventual champion Philadelphia Eagles, and the trailer shows just that.

The teaser for “The Kingdom” shows the main players of the Chiefs dynasty walking through green and silver confetti after losing 40-22 to the Eagles in the Super Bowl:

LOL. “Look at this storied franchise, they got mollywhopped on national TV in the Super Bowl by the best team of the 2020s. This is their story.” Embarrassing stuff.

Seriously though, there are two things to start off with here.

One, there’s already a movie called The Kingdom and it stars Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner. That duo makes Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes look closer to Bert and Ernie than Aikman and Earvin.

Number two, if we’re ripping off movie titles here, I think the Eagles 2024-25 documentary should be called The Bird Supremacy. At least that play on words is somewhat original.

Plus, it’s about a team that genuinely owns the Chiefs. Sure, they beat the Birds a couple years ago, but the record has been set straight and that documentary is going to have to show it one way or another.

What is most embarrassing about this teaser is that ESPN spared Mahomes from a shot of him walking through the confetti of the winning team. Chris Jones and TK got that treatment, but golden rat boy managed to skate by.

Have some fucking shame, ESPN. For the love of Christ.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
