Aronimink Is Back: Philly’s historic Donald Ross gem gets its shot at redemption in 2026 PGA Championship
It took 64 years, but Aronimink Golf Club is finally getting its second shot at hosting the PGA Championship—and you better believe Philly’s ready to put on a show.
Circle the date now: May 14–17, 2026. Aronimink Golf Club, one of Donald Ross’ crown jewels is back in the major spotlight, and this time, it’s personal.
Back to Finish the Job
The last time the PGA of America handed out the Wanamaker Trophy at Aronimink was in 1962. Gary Player won it all, but the course never got a second crack—at least, not until now.
Aronimink was supposed to host again in 1993, but the PGA pulled the plug over membership diversity requirements. That tournament ended up in Toledo. For decades, that stung.
Now, nearly 33 years later, Aronimink gets its shot at redemption.
Philly’s 2026 Sports Slate Is Absolutely Stacked
Let’s be real—2026 is shaping up to be the most electric sports year Philly’s ever seen. NCAA March Madness at Wells Fargo.
Six World Cup games at the Linc. MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park. And right in the heart of it, the PGA Championship teeing it up in Newtown Square.
Oh, and did we mention it’s all happening during the city’s 250th anniversary celebration? Philly’s not just the place to be. It is the sports capital of the world in 2026.
What to Expect at Aronimink
This isn’t your grandfather’s Aronimink.
The course will stretch just over 7,500 yards next May—up from 7,000 in 1962—with thicker, lusher May rough than players would’ve seen when PGA Championships used to be in August. The routing? Classic Ross. The greens? Original and devilish. The field? The best 156 players on the planet, regardless of tour allegiance.
Aronimink has already hosted all three PGA of America rotating championships (Senior PGA, Women’s PGA, and now Men’s), making it a rare triple-threat venue. And with a Gil Hanse restoration in 2018, the course is more Ross than ever.
Head pro Jeff Kiddie summed it up perfectly: “We want every day to feel like championship conditions. But that week in May, we’re leveling up.”
Big Stage, Bigger Numbers
Over 200,000 fans are expected throughout the week. That’s nearly five Eagles games’ worth of foot traffic. It’ll take more than 3,200 volunteers and three full months to set up the infrastructure—and six weeks to tear it down.
The PGA Championship’s economic impact? Estimated at $125 million. Over $10 million in local and state taxes. Global TV reach to more than 500 million homes in 180 countries.
This isn’t just a golf tournament. It’s a moment.

Tickets: Register Yesterday.
Hospitality is already 85% sold. Tickets will go on sale later this year, but the only way to guarantee a shot is by registering early. No money down. No obligation. But if you want to be there when Philly’s own major finally gets the moment it deserves, don’t wait.
For one week in May 2026, Philly isn’t just hosting a golf major. We’re hosting the golf major. Aronimink’s ready. Ross’ brilliance is ready. And if history tells us anything, so is this sports-crazed city.
