Jalen Hurts White House

Jalen Hurts finally ends the White House conversation: “I Don’t Think That’s Pertinent”

Jalen Hurts didn’t go to the White House with the rest of the Super Bowl champion Eagles in April, and now that he’s finally been asked about it, he kept it short, saying that he really didn’t think it was pertinent.

Jalen Hurts puts the White House talk to bed:

“I wasn’t available. I don’t think that’s pertinent. Everyone who went, and was available, they seemed to enjoy themselves.”

That’s it. That’s the quote. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Ever since the Eagles’ visit to the White House happened, the media and our fanbase couldn’t control themselves.

From tracking who made the visit and who skipped, to bashing whoever even mentioned the visit on social media, everyone immediately picked political sides and completely missed the point of being invited to the White House in the first place.

From a content perspective, it was annoying and beyond exhausting, so credit to Jalen Hurts for putting this entire ordeal to bed with just a few sentences today.

Jalen Hurts didn’t elaborate and obviously, didn’t need to. The organization had already put out the “scheduling conflict” explanation last month, and Hurts never publicly disputed that. He also wasn’t the only one who skipped the visit either.

A decent chunk of the team didn’t make the trip and honestly, the entire ordeal was pretty boring outside of Eli Ricks falling in love with Ivanka Trump.

President Trump stuck to the script and even called Hurts a “terrific guy and terrific player.” That was about as spicy as it got. No drama, no viral moment, no podium chaos.

It just kind of… happened.

While the online chatter was all politics, at least in my circle, none of us really cared about the White House visit. We wrote about it for the website, laughed at the insane people online debating it, and moved right along to the next piece of content. I would like to think that is true for most of the fanbase.

Who gives a shit about who was shaking hands in DC when we should all be locked in on hanging a 50 burger on the heads of the Dallas Cowboys Week 1 while they hang the Super Bowl LIX banner at The Linc?

Anyways, it’s finished. Jalen Hurts has spoken and we thank him for doing so.
