WATCH: Red Sox and Angels get heated pre-game over nasty allegations
The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels got into a heated scuffle before their Wednesday night matchup. At first, it appeared it began out of nowhere, but as the dust settled, it became clear it began due to some nasty sign-stealing allegations.
Angels pitcher Tyler Anderson accused the Red Sox first base coach of stealing signs during their previous matchup in which he surrendered five runs:

According to my sources, the problem that arose during today's practice was due to the fact that, apparently, Flores, the first base coach for Boston, was stealing the signals from pitcher Tyler Anderson. claims that during Anderson’s start on Monday, he believed Flores was stealing signs from his position at first base. In that game, Anderson gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings, though his team ultimately won 7-6 against the Red Sox.
Because Anderson is a left-handed pitcher, Flores had a clear view of his hand positioning and ball grip, potentially giving him a chance to spot any pitch-tipping. While noticing signs or pitch-tipping through observation is not against the rules, it becomes illegal if technology is used during the game to assist in decoding or relaying that information.
The simple solution here? Anderson needs to get better at his job. That’s like leaving your cards face up on the poker table and trying to fight the guy sitting next to you for noticing. Embarrassing.
Honestly, though, as long as nobody touched a hair on Mike Trout’s head, I’m perfectly fine with this. The Phillies need him nice and healthy for when they acquire him at the trade deadline.
