Bryce Harper Injury Update

Bryce Harper shared a very concerning update on his wrist injury Saturday

Well, this isn’t what anyone wanted to hear. Bryce Harper spoke to reporters after landing on the IL with that nagging right wrist injury, and the update… honestly doesn’t sound great.

Harper admitted he’s been feeling pain in the wrist every time he swings, and to make matters worse, getting drilled on the elbow back on May 27 only aggravated things further. He’s played just three games since then — going 1-for-11 — though that lone hit was a homer. Still, clearly the swing hasn’t been right.

Bryce Harper on wrist injury…not great

Bryce Harper dealt with a similar wrist issue all last season and tried to gut it out. This time, the plan is to shut him down and hope the rest helps. But if it doesn’t, this could turn into another case of “pain tolerance” the rest of the way.

Not exactly encouraging for a team that’s already in a brutal stretch right now.

Another frustrating loss for the Phillies

Bryce Harper’s 2025 numbers are a little down, hitting .258 with 9 homers and 34 RBI in 57 games but even an 80% Harper is still a presence in this lineup, especially with how cold some of the other bats have gone.

This injury doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a quick fix. Best case, Harper’s back in a couple weeks feeling better.

Worst case, we’re talking about another year of him trying to manage it while the Phillies hope it doesn’t completely sap his swing. For a team that just lost eight of nine, they really can’t afford the latter.

Stay tuned. This is going to be one to monitor closely.
