WATCH: Phillies fan crashes out, starts crying because of Pirates sweep
The Philadelphia Phillies have definitely seen better days — like, say, just a week ago. Between Bryce Harper’s injury and Jesús Luzardo struggling, things are looking bleak.
Fresh off a sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates, fans are officially in panic mode. Just a week ago, everything was fine. Two brutal series later, and it feels like all hell has broken loose. Things have gotten so bad that fans are literally crying on air about the state of the team.
During a call-in segment with Hunter Brody on Brodes Media, one emotional Phillies fan broke down in tears while talking about our beloved ballclub.
Nobody cares more than Phillies fans
Can you really blame the guy for reacting that way? The Phillies just got swept by one of the worst teams in baseball. Even without Bryce Harper in the lineup, that’s tough to justify.
Now, unlike him, I’m not putting too much weight on a rough 10-day stretch. The MLB season is a marathon, not a sprint. I’m not hitting the panic button until at least September. The trade deadline is still ahead, and while Harper’s injury is lingering longer than expected, I don’t think it’s season-ending.
I get the frustration—believe me, I do. But let’s save the tears for when the Phillies inevitably break our hearts in the postseason. Then we can all cry together.
