Pennsylvania License Plates

Let Freedom Ring: Pennsylvania is now accepting orders for the new Philly-themed license plates

Last July, Governor Josh Shapiro officially announced new license plates and signage for the state of Pennsylvania.  I was a big fan, given the fact that they are all clearly Philly-themed and it confirmed the well-known fact in SE Pennsylvania that Philadelphia is the one true city of the Keystone State.

All of this is happening ahead of America celebrating it’s 250th Birthday. Governor Shapiro is rolling out new license plates and signage across the Keystone State to remind everyone that Philadelphia is the birthplace of this country – where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness all started.

Today, an announcement was made that the new license plates are ready to order

Side Note: Maybe people will finally realize why The Liberty Line color scheme features the same exact colors as the ones used in Shapiro’s new Pennsylvania license plates above? These are the old school Philly colors that should be used whenever any professional sports team rolls out “City Edition” uniforms.

I honestly wouldn’t put it past Shapiro and his crew to straight up steal our colors here at The Liberty Line. He 100% stole my idea to fix I-95 last year and no one else can convince me otherwise.

My only critique would be the fact that the mockup for the new signage doesn’t match the plates? Not sure why we have two different colors of red and blue, Shapiro!

Get all the signs looking like the plates and we’ll really be cooking. Maybe The Liberty Line will even sponsor a highway? Who knows.

Lots can happen ahead of America’s 250th and don’t think I forgot about the World Cup coming to town that year either. FIFA better not screw things up and send Team USA to another host city during America’s birthday party here in Philadelphia.

“But Drew, what about Pittsburgh?!”

I’m sorry? Pittsburgh? In the Keystone State? Absolutely Not.

It’s time America starts acknowledging cities based on their sports teams. Shapiro didn’t even have that stupid Penguin mascot in the announcement video above. Only 2-of-3 pro sports teams in Pittsburgh is even acknowledged. If you can’t get three, let alone the required four pro sports teams then are you even a city worth recognizing?

C’mon man.

I will admit, the signs and the license plate resembling all things Philadelphia while completely ignoring Pittsburgh is absolutely beautiful. I mean seriously, just imagine all those Sheetz-loving Yinzers driving around with Philly-themed plates while being forced see these beautiful signs any time they are traveling home from out of state.

Philadelphia is America. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong.

If we’re being honest, the state capitol should have NEVER moved to Harrisburg and the United States should have built the White House in Port Richmond.

Shapiro made a perfect step in the right direction and over the next year, we’ll have to keep this Freedom Train moving so by 2026, America will be having the greatest birthday party the world has ever seen, right here in the city of Brotherly Love.
