WATCH: Thunder fans troll Tyrese Haliburton’s dad after Game 5 win

Man, Thunder fans better hope that this one doesn’t blow up in their faces.

After OKC took care of business in Game 5 of the NBA Finals with a 120-109 win over the Pacers to take a 3-2 series lead, fans outside the Paycom Center decided to talk their shit to Tyrese Haliburton’s father.

WATCH: Tyrese Haliburton’s dad trolled by Thunder fans

Honestly, the video is pretty standard and somewhat expected. Haliburton’s dad got into it with Giannis Antetokounmpo during the Pacers 4-1 series win over the Bucks in round one which made him an easy “talk shit” target for the remainder of the playoffs.

Nothing too malicious being said. That’s just classic postgame heckling and to his credit, John Haliburton took it on the chin while cracking a few jokes before walking off cool, calm, and collected before anything escalated.

No harm, no foul. Yet.

Hard to think that Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers won’t use this as motivation. That’s the father of your franchise leader right there. Indy might be down 3-2 in the series but there’s potentially two games left and now, there’s a reason for Haliburton to strike back with a statement.

Thunder Fans Poking The Bear…

I’m a Tyrese Haliburton fan. Once I get over the fact that resident bozo Daryl Morey decided that his obsession with James Harden was better than acquiring Hali from the Kings during the Ben Simmons exodus here in Philly, there’s no denying that Tyrese Haliburton has proven himself to be an elite talent in Indy throughout the playoffs.

Mix in his father, who’s been in the headlines probably more than he would like throughout the playoffs, and Hali has a little extra motivation when things go sideways.

John Haliburton got reinstated halfway through the Eastern Conference Finals, and ever since then, he’s been traveling, talking, and showing up in the tunnel. Now you’ve got OKC fans trying to clown him like the Finals are already over?

Tyrese Haliburton’s Status Looms Large — But Game 6 Is Personal Now

Obviously, the big question is whether Tyrese Haliburton is healthy enough to go in Game 6. If he is, even at 80%, you just gave this man all the motivation he needs to come out swinging.

Trolling his dad in public after a Finals loss is a risky path to take with two games left in the series. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got no issue with Thunder fans having fun. But I also hope this clip ages like milk. Tyrese Haliburton is one of the best young stars in the NBA, and I hope he walks back into Paycom Center tomorrow night and lights the place on fire to force a Game 7.

That’s best for business both for the NBA and us here at The Liberty Line.
