WATCH: JT Realmuto and Nick Castellanos pull off crazy double slide at home plate in 10-2 Phillies win

The Phillies absolutely lit up the Mets on Friday night, winning the first game of the series 10-2. The big win came in large part due to a six-run 7th inning, in which JT Realmuto and Nick Castellanos scored on one of the most insane plays at the plate I’ve ever seen.

Realmuto caught up to Castellanos on the base paths and kept pace with him all the way home, so close that he slid into Casty’s back after touching the plate.

Nick Castellanos and JT Realmuto did something straight out of a movie:

I love the hustle from JT after Bryson Stott hit one to the wall. He single-handedly turned it into a bases-clearing double.

Aggressive baserunning was one of the Phillies’ biggest strengths of the night. The vast majority of their runs came on base hits, and it’s even being said that Realmuto and Castellanos “ran a train on the Mets,” whatever that means.

Also, I know we don’t love the umpires often, especially in this game, but I’ve gotta give the man behind home plate some props for hitting the double safe signs without missing a beat. He might have called a mess of the game, calling balls and strikes, but beating the Mets by eight runs has me in a very forgiving mood.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
