Joy Taylor’s Caitlin Clark take was so embarrassing, she got laughed at on a podcast
The Caitlin Clark–Angel Reese “rivalry” is back in the news, and like clockwork, it’s being fueled by another painfully out-of-touch hot take from someone desperate for attention. This time, FS1’s Joy Taylor.
Before we get into it, I literally have no idea how someone like Joy Taylor has a job. All of the “off camera” rumors a few months back was enough to bury any television personality and when you mix in the fact that she’s a complete idiot, you rightfully start to question things.
Anyways, Taylor joined The Joe Budden Podcast and jumped right into the shallow end of the discourse pool, framing the now-infamous 2023 NCAA Championship moment, where Angel Reese taunted Caitlin Clark, as some kind of earth-shattering, Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird moment for women’s basketball.
Joy Taylor’s idiotic Caitlin Clark take
She got laughed at. Literally laughed at for this take. That’s all you need to know. You could just see the second hand embarrassment from the other hosts on this podcast.
Let’s pump the brakes, Joy Taylor
Caitlin Clark didn’t need that moment with Angel Reese to blow up. She was a walking headline since high school. When she stepped on the court in Iowa, she single-handedly revolutionized women’s basketball.
Meanwhile, Angel Reese was nowhere near national relevance until she tried to hijack Clark’s spotlight and Taylor’s trying to spin that as if Reese made Clark?
Make it make sense.
In reality, Angel Reese is a jealous narcissist who thought that she would be the next superstar in the WNBA until Caitlin Clark reminded everyone that she truly is the GOAT by pulling up from the logo on any hardwood she stepped foot on.
Joy Taylor is back in the engagement farm
When banging the entire office just isn’t working anymore, Joy Taylor headed back to the engagement farm to find relevancy. It’s a tale as old as time and honestly, it’s embarrassing.
For the uninformed, Caitlin Clark was already the most watched player in women’s college basketball. She had the NIL deals. She had the fans. She had the highlights. Reese just happened to be standing next to her when the cameras were rolling.
Joy Taylor doesn’t actually believe this. She’s just doing what she always does by picking a side for attention, not accuracy.
“I just said we would not be talking about Caitlin Clark the way that we do if it wasn’t for that moment with Angel Reese,” Taylor doubled down. “I will die on this hill.”
Well, congrats…I guess. That’s a really bad hill to die on but go right ahead. I don’t think we’d be missing much. If anything, the sports world would probably be better off? I think we’re all sick and tired of this garbage propaganda.
Bottomline: We’re all here for Caitlin Clark
I’m not shocked Joy Taylor is playing this angle. That’s her brand to say the loudest, most divisive thing possible and pray it goes viral. No one takes her seriously in the sports world, and takes like this are exactly why.
Angel Reese is a jealous narcissist who found a way to get famous by antagonizing the one player who’s single-handedly changed women’s basketball forever.
Joy Taylor is just trying to ride shotgun on the same wave.
The funny part about all of this is, I highly doubt Joy even watches the WNBA, and if she does, it’s certainly not a Chicago Sky game. There’s no facts, statistics or anything to back any of these idiotic claims from her.
Whether it’s appropriate to admit or not, I watch every single Indiana Fever game. Every Caitlin Clark dribble, shot, pass, logo three. So, if you’re looking for the best CC coverage, you’ve come to the right place and thankfully, I actually live in reality.
Caitlin Clark is the WNBA right now. Everyone else is just background noise.
