Lane Johnson gets real about Saquon Barkley, Sirianni culture, and dominating at 35 on Pat McAfee Show
It’s been quiet on the Philadelphia Eagles front here and we got blessed with a Lane Johnson segment on The Pat McAfee Show today.
From Saquon Barkley taking over the offense… to Nick Sirianni keeping the locker room tight… to Lane straight-up saying he feels better at 35 than he did at 30 — this wasn’t an interview, it was a damn clinic on what it means to be a DAWWGGGG.
Lane Johnson on Saquon Barkley
"Saquon Barkley made everything so much easier for our offense..

I never thought that he'd be on our team and we're making the most of it" ~ @LaneJohnson65 #PMSLive #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/4vlOjeeKMA
How crazy is it that the best right tackle in football who is apart of arguably the best offensive line unit in the league added Saquon Barkley to the mix? It still doesn’t feel real and honestly we all should have expected the historic season the Eagles had on the ground. I mean that O-line made so many mediocre running backs appear so much better than what they were.
It’s just overall a perfect marriage and one that is looking to pickup where they left off last season. Lead by head coach Nick Sirianni who had the humility to let the offensive line dictate the Eagles offense last year. That’s right, after week 3, they decided to switch to the heavy run attack that absolutely stomped the rest of the league.
Speaking of Sirianni, Lane also touched on the CEO head coach of the Birds

Sirianni’s critics are still loud for some reason, but Lane Johnson’s voice should carry more weight than any Philly radio caller or national talking head. If the locker room’s bought in, that’s all that matters.
Still, I can’t wrap my head around how fans and the media aren’t completely sold on Sirianni. Two Super Bowl appearances and one Lombardi Trophy in three years — that speaks for itself.
“I Feel Better at 35 Than I Did at 30”
Don’t let the birth certificate fool you—Lane Johnson is aging like a fine IPA brewed in South Philly.
“I’m lifting heavy at the start of the week and later in the week it’s lighter weight for speed.. I feel better now at 35 than I did at 30”
Honestly? That makes total sense. Front-load the heavy stuff, then taper off and get your body right for movement and speed. It’s a genius approach — and as someone who’s currently recovering from an unhealthy amount of alcohol consumed during the Eagles’ last Super Bowl run, I might just steal it.
I’ve been trying to get a little more toned this summer. Don’t want to get too bulky, especially since I’ve been mixing in a lot more golf and pickup hoops lately. Need to stay light on the feet. Nimble. Dangerous. Lane’s 35 and moving like he’s 25… I’m 26 trying to move like I’m not an aging NBA player who had multiple knee surgeries.
Lane Johnson Just Reassured Us That the Dawgs Are Still Starving
Anyways, this was a nice treat us Eagles fans and honestly this gave me all the reassurance I needed heading into the 2025-26 NFL season as the Eagles and Lane Johnson are still as hungry as ever.
We use to pray for times like this man.
