Dallas Goedert shuts down the fake AJ Brown-Jalen Hurts “drama” the media tried to push

As someone who was absolutely fed up with how hard Philly sports talk radio and the national media tried to stir the pot between AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts last season—this was refreshing to hear from Dallas Goedert.

The Eagles are locked in for another Super Bowl run, and yes, Dallas Goedert is still here. Despite the endless trade rumors that floated around for months, Goedert remains in midnight green for 2025. He’ll be a free agent after this season, but the Birds have one more shot at another ring with one of their top weapons still in the building.

But what really matters right now? Goedert stepped up and said what needed to be said about this so-called “AJ Brown vs. Jalen Hurts” drama—and he did it without sugarcoating.

In a recent interview with Essentially Sports, Goedert was asked about the relationship between Hurts and Brown, and his answer was simple and honest:

“I think they’ve got a great relationship. They’re both passionate. They’re both very meticulous at what they do. I think they got a great relationship…”

Finally. Someone said it. Not a fake “anonymous source” quote. Not a twisted radio segment trying to go viral off a sideline clip. This came from a dude who’s in the huddle with them.

On Philly Media Stirring the Pot:

“Sometimes the Philadelphia media likes to stir stuff up. You know, as a wide receiver, I want him to be a little bit of a diva. I want him to want the ball. I want him to believe that he’s the best and can never be guarded.

So, when everything’s going good, nobody has a problem with anything. When something starts to struggle, you know, he wants the ball. He wants to be able to be a difference maker, and I think both of them handled it really well, getting their points across, and I think Jalen does everything right to make sure everybody on the team stays happy.”

That was the best quote from Goedert here, addressing the obvious but also highlighting what makes AJ Brown such a dangerous receiver and arguably the best one in the league.

Let this be a lesson moving forward: don’t fall for the media bait. The core of this team is locked in. The Eagles have a culture and chemistry unlike any another team in the league.
