The Flyers season begins on the road

The Tocchet era officially begins Oct. 9 on the road in Sunrise, Florida against the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers. While it’s not banner-raising night for Florida, the Flyers still have to open their season by trying to spoil the champs’ party.

They’ll get another crack at the Cats just four days later, this time at home, on Monday, Oct. 13 for the Flyers’ home opener at Xfinity Live Arena.

Flyers 2025-26 Schedule

No Black Friday Game in Philly?

For the first time since 2005 (in a non-COVID shortened season), the Flyers won’t have a Black Friday home game. Instead, they’re headed to Long Island to take on the Islanders. Across the street, the Eagles host the Bears at 3 p.m. at the Linc, so expect total chaos in South Philly anyway.

2025-26 Flyers Schedule Notes

  • 14 back-to-back sets throughout the season.
  • 19-day Olympic break from Feb. 6–24.
  • Longest homestand: Six straight games from Dec. 1–13.
  • Longest road trip: Five games from Dec. 23–Jan. 3, split by the holiday break.
  • Only three meetings each with the Devils and Blue Jackets.

Notable Matchups to Circle

  • Oct. 28: Penguins in town for their first of two visits. Always spicy.
  • Nov. 12: McDavid and the Oilers come to Philly. Two-time defending Western champs.
  • Nov. 28: Black Friday at the Islanders.
  • Jan. 6: Cutter Gauthier comes back to Philly. His first return brought heat.
  • Mar. 18: Trevor Zegras faces the Ducks after being shipped out.
  • Apr. 14: Michkov vs. Lane Hutson in the regular-season finale.

It’s a busy slate, but one packed with drama and headlines from the jump. Flyers fans have plenty to look forward to and if the front office is serious about taking the next step, this schedule offers the perfect stage to prove it.
