WATCH: Kyle Schwarber goes perfect in All-Star Game Swing Off, wins MVP
Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber made history on Tuesday night, going three for three in the first-ever MLB All-Star Game Swing Off, securing the win for the National League. The perfect performance secured Schwarber the All-Star Game MVP award, and rightfully so.
Kyle Schwarber went ballistic, hitting three nukes on three swings:

Not going to lie, I thought the Swing Off sounded dumb. My opinion of it has instantly changed. Obviously, it shouldn’t be used in any meaningful capacity to decide actual games, but the event delivered on the drama.
Does Kyle Schwarber being the clincher color my impression of the format favorably? I’d be lying if I denied that. But God forbid a guy finds joy in watching his guy hit high-leverage bombs on national television.
Schwarber was the only Phillie to appear in the All-Star Game this year, which is, by the way, patently ridiculous, so his getting his shine and making history is nice to see. It was made even sweeter by the fact that he stole the MVP right from under that rat weasel Pete Alonso’s nose.
