Kyle Schwarber keeps it classy after winning MLB All-Star Game MVP
Kyle Schwarber did what he does best at Truist Park Tuesday night by launching baseballs into orbit to seal a National League victory over the American League, 8-6.
The game was tied at six after nine innings, so MLB went to its new tiebreaker format, and Schwarber wasted no time making sure it ended quickly.

The performance earned him All-Star Game MVP honors, a well-deserved nod for the most dangerous bat in a clutch moment.
In true Schwarber style, he didn’t make it about himself.
“There’s a lot of guys who are way more deserving of this award,” Schwarber said after the game. “But just happy we get a win with the National League and that it’s going to be coming home to Philly.”
Pete Alonso probably leads the “more deserving” list Schwarber referred to but that’s Pete Alonso. Here in Philly, we will lose zero sleep knowing that Schwarber is taking home MVP over a New York Mets rat.
Alonso did in fact hit a 3-run bomb in the sixth inning to put the NL up 5–0 and was also selected for the swing-off, but thanks to Schwarber going full berserker mode, he didn’t even need to pick up a bat.
Still, it was a cool moment for Schwarber. When it comes to power, few do it better. On the big stage, he delivered and Phillies fans now have an All-Star MVP trophy to add to the collection.
Ah, and if you missed the three Schwarbombs…here’s the highlight reel.
