Rams’ Kobie Turner has Week 3 “circled” because the Eagles still haunt him in his sleep

You know you’ve got it like that when months after ripping a team’s heart out, their players are still breaking down your tendencies during individual training.

That’s exactly what’s happening in Los Angeles, where Rams defensive lineman Kobie Turner made it very clear that the Philadelphia Eagles are still living rent-free in his brain heading into the 2025 season.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past 6+ months, the Eagles rolled through the playoffs en route to a Super Bowl title. For whatever reason, one team is still patting themselves on the back about it. Not because they won, obviously, but because they weren’t absolutely humiliated like the rest.

The Los Angeles Rams, who fell 28-22 in the Divisional Round at The Linc think they accomplished something. I can’t really tell you why, given the fact that Matthew Stafford had the football with a chance to win at the end of the game and didn’t, yet here we are.

Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer. Training Camp is set to begin over the next week for NFL teams and Kobie Turner is still shook about what happened last January in South Philly.

Kobie Turner sees Saquon Barkley in his nightmares…

“I’ve had that loss in the back of my mind for a while,” Turner told NFL Network’s The Insiders. “I believe it’s Week 3 — circled. Even in individual training right now, we’re breaking down how some of the offensive linemen for the Eagles block, and how we’re going to defeat that.”

Saquon Barkley Broke Their Spirit

The Rams didn’t lose to the Eagles because of some fluke. They got torched by Saquon Barkley. Not once. Twice.

In the Divisional Round playoff game, Barkley hit home runs from 78 and 62 yards out. That’s 140 of his 205 rushing yards on two plays. Before that, back in Week 12, he hung 255 rushing yards on their heads, with touchdown runs of 72 and 70 yards.

Side Note: Shoutout Phans of Philly. The boys had a great time in Santa Monica.

Anyways, Saquon was running through them like a cheat code and Kobie Turner is haunted by it:

“Ultimately, the thing that really got us last year is there’s a couple of big runs,” he said. “We stopped the run for the most part, but a couple of those runs where we didn’t fit it up right, where Saquon was able to get to the second level fast — and he’s super dangerous there.”

Basically, the Rams got popped in the mouth and couldn’t recover. Bummer.

Eagles Obsession Won’t Save Kobie Turner

What’s even more hilarious is the way Turner is trying to psych himself up like this is Rocky II and he’s about to run it back for revenge. Bro, you’re not Apollo Creed. You’re just another NFC team that got steamrolled on the Eagles’ path to a parade.

“Obviously those guys are Super Bowl champs, they won it, they deserve it and whatnot,” Turner said. “But this year’s a new year, and man, we definitely have that game circled.”

That’s cool. Circle it. Frame it. Write a poem about it.

The Eagles have their eyes sight on winning back-to-back Super Bowls. And the rest of the NFL has their eyes on the Birds solely. There’s simply levels to this and I wouldn’t be stunned if this specifically from Kobie Turner becomes bulletin board material for that Week 3 matchup.

No doubt about it, the Birds are going to smash the Rams yet again. Jalen Hurts will secure yet another head-to-head win over Matthew Stafford. He’s currently 3-0 against the all-time great and can jump to 4-o with another win, further cementing him as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

It’s also worth noting that head coach Nick Siranni is 3-0 coaching against Sean McVay. I’m sure there’s always some added juice for our fiery head coach when he’s competing against the game’s best as well.
