Eagles Training Camp: First-round pick set to practice on first day, Nakobe Dean ends up on PUP list

A few notable developments out of the first day of Eagles training camp:

Eagles first-rounder set to practice, despite earlier reporting

According to Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni, Eagles rookie LB Jihaad Campbell is good to go and will be on the practice field today.

This is huge, and honestly, kind of shocking. We were told all offseason that Campbell probably wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season. It was the main reason (we were told) that he fell in the draft. I guess that was never true? Or maybe he is just ahead of schedule in his recovery. Nevertheless, great news for the Eagles here.

On the other side of things, Nakobe Dean will begin camp on the PUP list. Far less surprising. He suffered a torn patellar tendon during the Birds Super Bowl run and typicall that takes a full year to recover from. If he manges to get on the field by Septembet, I’ll be happy. Even that seems far fetched, but anything is possible.
