Shaq continues to relentlessly hate on Rudy Gobert and will likely never stop
It’s no secret that Shaq hates Rudy Gobert with the fire of a thousand suns. It’s well documented that he’ll pretty much talk shit about him whenever he gets the chance.
Well, he seized the moment with both of his freakishly large hands on a recent edition of The Big Podcast.
Shaq didn’t sugarcoat it to say the very least:

Jeez, man. Tell us how you feel. I know there’s some real dislike there, but my goodness, he just seems to hate him more and more with each passing day. I aspire to hate at that level one day.
But let’s be honest. We all know why he hates Gobert so much. Some think it’s just because he’s insecure when other big men perform well, but deep down, everyone knows the real reason. It’s very simple when you think about it.
He’s French.
And guess what, that’s exactly why I don’t like Gobert either. And that’s a perfectly acceptable reason to do so.
Needless to say, I stand with The Big Aristotle. I also have plenty of other reasons to dislike Gobert, but the whole being French thing just completely enrages me.
Not only does his home country badmouth my sweet boy Joel Embiid ever since he declined to play for their sorry excuse for a world power, but they’re also European, which is gross. Especially in a Ryder Cup year.
I understand Gobert has a basketball resume that a lot of big men could only dream of. I’ll never be able to take that away from him.
He’s a four-time Defensive Player of the Year. Quite literally, the only Frenchman who’s good at defense, and unfortunately, it came about 90 years too late.
But he also gave the entire NBA press pool COVID. So there are layers to every legacy.
