WATCH: Eagles fan asked Jalen Hurts to hit the Griddy and his response was perfect
I’m not sure I could even stand in the presence of Jalen Hurts, a World Champion, Super Bowl MVP, and QB1 for THE Philadelphia Eagles, and comfortably ask him to hit the Griddy with me, but welcome to 2025 and the age of social media content creators.
Social media influencers got an invite to NFL training camp to meet the players and create content about the overall experience. That’s perfectly fine.
Cool opportunity to do shit like that but what rubs me the wrong way, is how the content can never happen naturally. Instead, they’re constantly clout-chasing and forcing viral moments that nobody asked for. It’s truly embarrassing behavior, and frankly, exhausting to live in a world where this is the norm.
WATCH: Jalen Hurts turns down Eagles fan
HILARIOUS: An #Eagles fan asked Jalen Hurts if he would griddy with her and Jalen gave a big fat, “NO.”

The Griddy is a celebration dance. It’s supposed to happen after you score a touchdown. It’s something that is done after there is something worth celebrating. It’s not some random, out-of-place move for a TikTok skit or influencer vlog.
If King Jalen Hurts is ever going to hit the Griddy, it will be after he scores a touchdown to put the Birds in a big moment this season. As we all witnessed it the video above, it will not be done because someone shoved a phone in his face and practically begged for content.
No Hate, Just Not Our Style
Look, I don’t have any personal issues with these influencers. To each their own. Just not my style and most of the writers, if not all, here at The Liberty Line would agree.
Hard Hats Not Hash Tags
Sure, not everything we’ve done has been perfect. Whether it was a blog, a video, or a meme that missed the mark, it happens. We’re definitely not the ones pulling up to Eagles games with a camera screaming, “If the Eagles lose, I’ll do whatever the top comment says!” and then not even following through.
Wild concept, I know.
Maybe if we did that stuff we’d get more brand deals but the longevity of that type of work just doesn’t seem probable.
This type of stuff is corny.

Boots on the ground here at The Liberty Line
TLL is always in the mix. We’re writing until our fingers fall off and the results are obvious. When we travel with Phans of Philly, we’re not forcing any type of content. We’re just writing about the Birds, mixing it up with any and all Eagles fans, and talking sports. We put in real work and represent Philly fans the right way.
We’re 6-0 with Phans Of Philly, btw…
I’ll take a hard pass on humiliating myself for views. As a man of God and principle, I will not sell the soul of our content machine for a few clicks and a brand shoutout.
Side Note: Unless that brand wants to pay TLL several thousands of dollars, then I’ll do whatever is asked. I don’t care if you’re Russia or Communist China, I’ll sign up for a paycheck and sell my soul to get out of credit card debt, no problem.
Kidding. Obviously. Maybe.
You get the point though. Not a fan of this type of content and I’m happy to see Jalen Hurts shut it all down. TLL will keep showing up and creating for the fans with representation that this city actually deserves.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll sell some sick-ass T-shirts in the process >>
