WATCH: Twins fans enter full meltdown mode after trading Jhoan Duran to the Phillies
Jhoan Duran is joining the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday after an incredible trade from Dave Dombrowski and the front office yesterday.
Phillies finalize trade for Jhoan Duran in exchange for 2 top prospects
Out in Minnesota, it’s just misery, misery, misery. Twins fans are in shambles, but their pain, is my pleasure. I was overjoyed after watching them suffer even more while the Phillies acquired their electric closer Jhoan Duran to make another run at a World Series.
Sleepy Dave Dombrowski finally delivered a blockbuster ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline yesterday, landing Jhoan Duran from the Twins, sending Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait in return.
It was an absolute fleece. The Phillies benefitted from propping up a “bounce back” year from Mick Abel and an 18-year old prospect that wouldn’t sniff The Show for at minimum 2-3 more years.
The Phillies now have their closer. Duran is a 6’5″ MONSTER who can max out a heater at 103 mph like it’s nothing. He now finds himself going to a team and a fanbase who is in full-blown celebration mode right now and preparing for a World Series run.
As for Twins fans, they are in complete shambles over the trade. I’m having trouble understanding why that would be the case, however.
The Twins are 51-57 on the season and 4-6 over their last 10 games. They are 12 games back of the AL Central leading Detroit Tigers.
They are nine back of the second place Guardians, who are 54-54 and have accepted their fate as sellers at the deadline.
Twins fans are in total shambles right now after trading Jhoan Duran

I’m sorry but you don’t get to be upset when you’re a poverty baseball franchise and not even in contention. You should be happy that the few good players you have are being traded and freed from baseball purgatory.
And it doesn’t just stop there. Aside from the hundreds of distraught Twins fans in the comments of this video, there were more upset fans that took to social media to vent their frustrations over losing Jhoan Duran.
Twins fans pain, my pleasure. Suffer! Suffer! Suffer!

Hey, at least Twins fans got Mick Abel right? Maybe they will properly pronounce Eduardo Tait’s name too, unlike the contingent of Phillies fans who are (stupidly) upset that we traded a “catcher of the future” who likely won’t even play catcher if he ever makes it to the big leagues.
Let’s call it what it is Minnesota. You’re in the midst of yet another rebuild/retooling to try to remain relevant in baseball conversations after the trade deadline. Do I feel bad for you? Absolutely not. We went through a decade-long playoff drought here in Philadelphia. We traveled through hell and look at us now. If emotions are properly managed, you will find light at the end of the tunnel.
You might not, which is totally fine for me too. I literally could care less.
This trade for Jhoan Duran checks every box for the type of player the Phillies needed in their bullpen. Velocity, ERA, control through 2027. Just a total home-run move from Dombrowksi, and let’s just hope he can add a legitimate bat for this offense now.

Speaking for Minnesota… set yourself on fire, dude. Please.
