Kyle Schwarber strengthens NL MVP case with yet another unreal performance
Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber brought his tally up to 40 home runs with two bombs against the Orioles, one of which was a grand slam. The lefty has been mashing baseballs and, quite frankly, should be in a serious conversation for NL MVP.
Kyle Schwarber is on an absolute heater in 2025:

Good god, Kyle. Those baseballs had families. Now they’re gone forever.
To be honest, not extending Kyle Schwarber sooner might have been a massive misstep by the Phillies’ front office. He was always going to get big money this offseason with his track record, but 40 home runs before the first week of August is even over is completely ridiculous.
Phillies fans know they are witnessing greatness. Everyone in the building was chanting MVP before he even blasted that grand slam, and goddammit, they’re right to.
Imagine if he wins the NL MVP? Obviously, I’ll be over the moon, but he’s going to get the bag thrown at him. Middleton better open his checkbook and get him back on the roster anyway. I don’t care what it takes, give him a piece of the team if you have to.
Hurry up and pay him. Didi Mau, Dave.
