I’m not going to rag on him, and I appreciate the statement, but getting popped for PEDs in a season where your team needs every piece possible to get back to the World Series is not what you want to see.
Plus, he’s ineligible to participate in the playoffs. So while he’ll be helpful in the NL East race, he’s going to have to go back onto the shelf once the postseason rolls around.
Of course, it’ll be good to have him back in the bullpen to eat innings until the end of the regular season. keeping guys like Kerkering and Strahm fresh is going to be an essential part of postseason success.
Jose, a statement is nice, but actions speak louder than words. Go out there when you get back and eat innings until your arm falls off. Empty the tank, bring your signature energy, and get your boys in prime position to make a run. Do that and all will be forgotten.
