Every team Tanner McKee could start for this season
I saw it. You saw it. Tanner McKee is the truth.
Yeah, it was only one half of preseason ball, but the guy led two scoring drives against the Bengalsโ starters. And if thatโs not enough for you, just use your eyes โ he can make every throw, heโs sneakily mobile, and he just slings it all over the yard.
McKee wrapped up the first half going 14-for-17, 193 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 153.2 QB rating. Absolute animal. Iโm literally writing this while the third quarter is still going on โ couldnโt even wait.
Not only is McKee probably the best backup quarterback in the NFL, but he could start for multiple teams right now. So, letโs break it down โ which teams could Tanner McKee actually start for this season?
Teams Tanner McKee Definitely Would Not Start For:
- Eagles
- Chiefs
- Ravens
- Bengals
- Bills
- Commanders
- Broncos
- Chargers
- Texans
- Patriots
This list is pretty self-explanatory. Personally, I think he could probably outplay Justin Herbert in L.A., but the NFL zeitgeist isnโt ready for that conversation.
You might be surprised by the Broncos being here, but Sean Payton loves Bo Nix and he closed last season strong. While Iโd still take McKee, I get it โ everyoneโs got their type.
Teams That Should Consider Trading for McKee:
- Cardinals
- Falcons
- Panthers
- Bears
- Browns
- Cowboys
- Lions
- Packers
- Colts
- Jaguars
- Rams
- Vikings
- Saints
- Raiders
- Giants
- Dolphins
- 49ers
- Seahawks
- Jets
- Steelers
- Buccaneers
- Titans
I donโt care what you say โ McKee could start for every single one of these teams. All 22. Donโt lie to yourself. Deep down, you know itโs true.
The no-brainers here? Browns, Saints, Vikings, Colts. Those front offices should be calling Howie Roseman right now. McKee would be a massive upgrade and actually make those teams watchable.
As for the rest, they should be calling Howie too, but sadly, theyโre all still clinging to false hope in their current guys. Meanwhile, Tanner McKee is the truth.
The asking price? A first-round pick plus more. When you have a franchise quarterback in your building, you donโt give him away โ you make teams pay franchise quarterback prices.
Weโll see how this season plays out. Hopefully, the Eagles can keep him one more year before flipping him in the offseason.
