Little Leaguer Roasts Juan Soto: “He’s Kind of Overrated”

Juan Soto’s been catching heat all season, but you know things are really bad when the kids at the Little League World Series are piling on.

During a TSN Sports interview with a group of Little Leaguers, one kid from Canada casually dropped the hammer when asked if Soto was on his autograph wish list.

His response? “Eh, he’s kind of overrated.”

Bang. No hesitation. Just a 12-year-old giving the $765 million man the type of honesty that Mets fans whisper to themselves at 2 a.m. after another loss.

The Weight of That Juan Soto Contract…

To be fair, Soto hasn’t been bad. He’s sitting on a .880 OPS with 30 bombs. But when you sign the richest deal in sports history, the expectation is MVP trophies, parades down the Canyon of Heroes, and maybe even Mets fans not being completely miserable.

Instead, he’s become a lightning rod for criticism and even the kids are calling it like they see it. Of course, Soto’s been roasted by media, fans, and analysts all year, but nothing cuts quite like a Little Leaguer casually clowning you on TV.

That “overrated” clip has already gone viral, and to make matters worse, the kid did soften it a little by saying Soto is “pretty good”… but the damage was already done.

Once the word “overrated” is out there, it sticks.

Mets Misery Is Eternal

Between Alonso striking out and Soto catching strays from the next generation of ballplayers, the Mets’ brand isn’t exactly shining right now.

Meanwhile, the Phillies still hold the hammer in the NL East.

If Little Leaguers are roasting your franchise player on national TV, maybe it’s time to rethink the whole “let’s pay everyone a billion dollars and hope for the best” strategy.
