Andy Reid

Andy Reid was nearly shot in his office last year and we’re just now hearing about it

Apparently, Andy Reid was sitting in his office at the Chiefs’ facility last May when a bullet flew through his damn window. Yeah, you read that right. According to The Kansas City Star, the bullet shattered his glass, ripped through the blinds, and lodged itself in the wall just 15 feet away from Big Red. The dude was literally sitting right there.

And get this — two other bullets hit the facility that same night. One smacked the third floor above Reid’s office, and another hit an outdoor AC unit. Luckily, nobody was injured. Still, how is this not one of the biggest stories in sports until now?

Instead, ESPN and Disney is putting out this “Chiefs Kingdom” documentary, which is still silly to me because the Eagles absolutely clapped them in the Super Bowl. But, thats nether here nor there. This is no joking matter here.

Wild Andy Reid report drops

Here’s where I’m stunned: the investigation is still going on more than a year later. No arrests. No suspects. Nothing. How? We’re talking about a live shooting into the office of one of the biggest names in the NFL and they haven’t pieced anything together?

The police are calling it an “aggravated assault” with “no indication” Reid was directly targeted. So what… just a random midnight shooting where a stray bullet somehow ends up inside Andy Reid’s office?

Chiefs Players Didn’t Even Know Until Now

The wildest part? Most of the Chiefs organization didn’t even know about it. This was basically a well-kept secret until this week. Meanwhile, Reid just kept showing up to work like nothing happened. The team even installed bulletproof glass in his office afterwards.

Andy Reid is 67 years old, has three Super Bowl rings, and the guy doesn’t even flinch when a bullet flies into his office. He went on to coach Kansas City to a 15-2 record last season and straight back to another Super Bowl — against the Eagles, of course.

And listen, I don’t want to make light of what could’ve been a tragedy, but imagine if things went differently that night.

Bottom Line

The fact that it’s taken over a year and we still don’t know who fired into Andy Reid’s office is absolutely insane. This should be one of the biggest NFL off-field stories in years, yet it was buried until now. Thank God nobody was hurt — but I’m still floored this really happened.
