Robert Garrigus wants to play Jordan Spieth’s for spot in Signature Events and I want nothing more than to witness Spieth humble this freak
Robert Garrigus woke up and decided to take a swing at Jordan Spieth, of all people. Apparently, Garrigus is mad about the PGA Tour adding another Signature Event in 2026 and went full unhinged mode, calling out Spieth by name and challenging him to play for his spot in the high-stakes PGA TOUR event.
“So, does that mean one more sponsor invite for Jordan Spieth? Tell Spieth I’ll play him for any amount he wants. I win, I get his five invites to the signature events.”
Bro. What?
Garrigus has played one event in 2025. One. He’s 46 years old, hasn’t been relevant in forever, and his career highlight is basically being the “who?” answer in a trivia game.
Meanwhile, in case your brain is peanut-sized like our pal Garrigus here, Jordan Spieth is one of the faces of golf. He has three majors, Ryder Cup heroics, and an entire generation of fans who grew up watching him on his resume.
Robert Garrigus is basically your local municipal’s golf pro so I really don’t understand what he’s mad about anyways. It’s not hard to figure out why a sponsor would rather give an invite to Jordan Spieth than Robert Garrigus. Garrigus couldn’t draw 10 people to his kid’s little league game, let alone fill a golf course.
Jordan Spieth should own this freak. Run It.
As much as I think Garrigus is out of his mind, I want this match to happen just to watch Jordan Spieth humble him. Not LIV vs. PGA.
Not quarterbacks clowning around in charity scrambles. A real one-on-one match with actual stakes. Winner gets Signature Event invites.
Jordan Spieth has nothing to gain here, which is why he’ll never accept.
Just imagine the spectacle of him dismantling Garrigus on national TV. That’s the kind of petty, beautiful golf content we need.
Golf Needs Villains but that’s not Robert Garrigus lol
I’ll give Garrigus credit for one thing: he put his name in the headlines by calling out Spieth. That’s more than he’s done with his actual golf game in years. Don’t get it twisted, this is desperation. Garrigus wants a shortcut into big-money fields he hasn’t earned.
There’s no better outcome than Jordan Spieth showing up, taking his money, and sending him back to the Korn Ferry Tour where he belongs.
Jordan Spieth vs. Robert Garrigus. One guy trying to protect his legacy, the other clinging to any relevance he can find. So sure, set it up and let Spieth end this freak’s little fantasy once and for all.
